If I can...

 

If I can stop one heart

from breaking,

I shall not live in vain. 

If I can ease one life

the aching,

or cool one pain,

or help one fainting robin

onto his nest,

I shall not live in vain.

 

만약 내가

 

만약 내가 아픈 마음 하나 달랠 수 있다면  

나 헛되이 사는 것은 아니리. 

한 생명의 아픔 덜어줄 수 있거나,  

괴로움 하나 달래줄 수 있다면,

기진맥진 지친 울새 한 마리,  

둥지에 다시 넣어 줄 수 있다면  

나 헛되이 사는 것 아니리.
